Lugar a dudas, working table
in the archive. The conversation resembles physical movement
in search for the most appropriate position in space. Sound
of chincharras in the background.
GREEN: My proposal: I imagine that my performance
could take place amidst our presentations… more precisely
after the first part of the project’s presentation, in
other words before the presentation of our previous work – directly
in the middle in order to create an obscure situation for the
audience.
BLUE: That is the best option so far to fit
the performances in. To use the singing as a break. Also, your
performance has a direct relation with the issue, but is abstract
enough not to appear illustrative. I almost think it works like
something in a comic.
GREEN: I could imagine placing RED’s
performance at the end, since a theatre performance seems to
be a general reflection about the process and the strategy of
speaking within the context of art. In my opinion the everyday
occurrence of events reveals how specific situations of work
come about. Perhaps this could open something and inspire a talk
with the audience. I am not entirely sure…
RED: I am suspecting that this theatre performance
should somehow take place before your singing. Also, because
your singing could be such a good transition to the rest of the
evening.
GREEN: This is not agreeable for me, particularly,
because I do not want my piece to turn into some form of entertainment.
PINK: Absolutely, I can see that. This quickly
could be read as the announcement to party-time. It might be
better to place GREEN’s performance at the very beginning.
BLUE: So, you are referring to the moment
just before YELLOW and me will present our work and introduce
the second part with our previous works.
GREEN: If you will introduce the second part
at all at this moment. This has not been decided yet.
BLUE: We had committed ourselves to this
plan. The sequence of the program has already been set.
PINK: Oh dear, we have a problem.
GREEN: Yes, I know.
BLUE: Oh well, we can always tell people,
that we have changed the program.
GREEN: In spite of everything else. Where
do you think, RED, your performance fits in best?
RED: I’m not really sure at the moment.
I guess my piece would be rather dry in its impression and effect.
That is why I would consider it to be stronger if your part was
placed after mine. I cannot explain that any better now. That’s
my feeling for the dramaturgy, in the way one structures something,
one enhances or diminishes its value.
GREEN: Hmm.
Silence.

RED: I only can express it now in the way I feel it.
BLUE: Let’s start again from the beginning.
We feature two live acts and the Berlin songs of WHITE. Why don’t
we do it then this way: First the theoretical part of our project,
then follows what the Colombian artists have done in Berlin,
then about their stay, then GREEN’s performance and then
without any explanation the theatre performance, after that the
presentation of previous works and finally speaking about the
work in progress.
GREEN: You consider RED’s performance
following straight away mine?
BLUE: Yes.
PINK: I am not sure about trying to explain
these issues in a conversation, why should we?
BLUE: Because this is also an act of exchange,
this is what our project is about.
GREEN: I suggest another idea. My piece could be disrupted at
any particular moment. I only have to say «Stop».
It should not be a concert anyway. What if I would start with
singing at the very beginning as people enter and find a place
to sit somewhere and they would not know, that this would belong
to the presentation already?

A pause in the conversation.
Sound of chincharras, very loud.
PINK: Could you explain your point of criticism
a bit more precise?
RED: We very often deviate from the topics
we have intended to talk about. This is immensely tiresome. At
the moment there are burning issues that have to be dealt with.
Also, the idea to start the meeting with a flashlight instead
of a discussion was very well thought through. I consider it
too early to talk about emotions, which are still boiling. Therefore:
this discussion right now has nothing to do with the topics of
today and affects my mood in an absolute negative way.
PINK: We should write down all topics in
order to discuss them later.
RED: We mentioned at the beginning already
to talk about these topics at another point.
PINK: However, I still think that such a
conversation is not always avoidable. Sometimes topics turn interesting
in the heat of a conversation – for example, I felt your
tone of voice was quite sharp just now. Because you said, that
you are unwilling to discuss this topic with us any longer. I
find this didactic.
RED: I am going to disrupt the audio recording
again. This has nothing to do with our work.
Loud switching off.
