Description
The points of the competition contribution
are: re-using the existing historical parts (requirement of the jury)
of the old saxonia fountain from 1893 | a module principle as the
general project idea | reassembling the old stone parts of the fountain
but accenting the separation distances of each element | illumination
of the separation distances | assembling parts with contemporary
imagery | instead of the formerly allegorical figures (melted down)
inserting a media module with diplays | the inhabitants and visitors
of Chemnitz could inform themselves about the current activities
of the town nowadays, the today´s wells - about developments,
ideas, initiatives and corporations | instead of the old saxonia
figure (also melted down) a column made of yellow cuboids as a symbol
of shouldering the fundamentals of the state (like the saxonia does)
is intended. | positioning cuboids near and around the fountain
